Deliver me!

Success!! It has to be defined in a way to suit individual tastes. Mindsets and dimensions develop from experiences will help you to drive towards your own meaning. But let's face a new dimension in living, get out of our mindsets that have left us in bondage. Society will have to coalesce to achieve unity, in order to create hope that will build our character and harvest the fruits of our success.

The person's perspective of success differs as he/she matures. At young age, success is measured in terms of position, fame, material things, etc. These are the parameters that make a person happy. When a person is happy, that is equated with success. That is more of egocentric, the focus is more on yourself.

And I agree with your blog... that these are all social constructions - our mindset and dimensions are products of being part of a society where we are influenced by factors in order for us to think and act based on universally-accepted norms.

However, as we journey in this world, as we have attained some aspirations, there are other aspects that we look for. We want something deeper and meaningful. We want to be liberated on the conventional view. This time, our outlook extends beyond ourselves.

Maybe, we can come up with indicators on how to feel success.

Success can be equated on how many people have we touched. Have we made a difference in the lives of others, especially those in need (not necessarily of material things, but of time, knowledge, care and affection)?

We can start with our family - our partner and our children. Are we instrumental in making them a better person?

In the community or organization where we belong, have we contributed our talents and resources to make our community a better place to live in?

Whenever we execute something, have we made friends or created enemies?
